Midlands Miscellany

Rachel: We spent our first week in England in and around the Midlands, catching up with my parents in Birmingham and various friends and family and visiting local places like Worcester and the Wyre Forest. We were really lucky with the weather - it was stunning most of the time, most unlike the stormy Wellington that we left behind!
Here are some photos from our first week.

King John's tomb in Worcester Cathedral (he died in 1216).
With Anita, one of my friends from school days
With my Mum and Dad, in the Clent Hills near Birmingham
Again with Mum and Dad, this time in front of a giant sedge dog in Upton!
                                        Looks like a pukeko in action...but it's a moorhen.
Birmingham Bull Ring, with Selfridges (the golf ball) behind it. Brum has changed a lot since I grew up there, the city centre has been revitalised and it is a much nicer place to wander around.
Beautiful woodland at the Wyre Forest
Rachel's FT girls meet up in Brum: Lisa, Helly, Jean, Becky, Diane.
                                               Autumn colours, Wyre Forest
The high ropes course at Go Ape, Wyre Forest (a bit like Adrenalin Forest, with really cool zip wires!)
                                                        Rebecca at Go Ape
We did it -  all officially tree-climbing primates now! at Go Ape
