Sunny Sunday at Croome Court

Rachel: On a lovely sunny Sunday in September we met my old friends Ian and Amy and their family at a nearby National Trust place, Croome Court. It was an old house set in beautiful landscaped gardens done by Capability Brown. The house had been owned by many different groups over the years, and in the last 100 years has been a centre for Hare Krishnas, a boys' home, and an RAF base during WW2. Hence a lot of the decoration inside was very eclectic! The grounds have been open to the public for years, but the house needed a lot of renovation and restoration and has only been open since 2009. The grounds were wide-ranging and beautiful, with a huge man-made lake; perfect for a walk and picnic on a sunny day.
